Quail eggs are thought to be this magnificent, luxurious product. The reality is quite different from that. Quails’ lives are filled with suffering from the very beginning. They cannot spread their wings, cannot fly, they never see the life outside the cage.
This year I visited a quail farm in Ukraine. 3000 quails produce 1600 eggs per day. They are kept in tiny cages, not being able even to move around. Many of them were injured, hurt, deformed. 90% of all quails bred for eggs are kept in cages. All of them end up in a slaughterhouse, after about 5 months of egg production.
